Dear Parents/Guardians,
As part of our school literacy week (16th- 20th October), we have organised a variety of events to promote literacy. Throughout the week, pupils will participate in a variety of literacy activities which include, writing book and film reviews, comprehension activities (e.g. hot seating), making book marks and spelling, grammar and punctuation games.
Our annual Scholastic Book Fair will run from Thursday 12th- Tuesday 17th October from 2-4pm in the school assembly hall
Parents and pupils will be allocated a time slot for purchasing at the fair:
P.1-2 pupils and parents 2:00-3:00 pm
P.3-7 pupils and parents 3:00-4:00 pm
Any profit made will be used to purchase new books for our Accelerated Reading Programme.
On Monday 16th October, we have a visit from the well-known Irish musician Tom Sweeney.
On Wednesday 18th and Thursday 19th October ‘In Your Space Circus’ will hold circus skills workshops for each class. These workshops will engage pupils in circus skills which have been found to promote development in areas such as balance, team work, social inclusion, lateral thinking, confidence and creativity.
On Friday 20th October we are inviting all pupils to come to school dressed as their favourite book character.
