Our Jubilee Celebration!
St Finlough’s Primary School marked a proud milestone last week as we celebrated our 50th anniversary. Our school, which first opened its doors on 7 April, 1975, has been a cornerstone of the local community for half a century.
A special Mass was held at St Finlough’s Chapel on Thursday 4 April to commemorate the occasion. The celebration brought together past principals, teachers and pupils, current staff and pupils and members of the wider community. It was a touching tribute to the school’s long-standing role in the community.
Following the Mass, attendees were welcomed back to the community hall for tea, refreshments and live music which was provided by St Finlough’s Male Choir. The event provided a chance to share memories, reconnect with old friends and reflect on the school’s history. To mark the occasion further there was commemorative displays of old photographs, class registers and other memorabilia, offering a glimpse of school life over the decades.
For fifty years, our school has stood as a place of learning, friendship and community, and the celebrations made it clear that its spirit remains as strong as ever.
We would like to thank everyone who contributed to our celebrations for making it such memorable occasion!
