Parent information 21/6/2020
Dear Parents/Guardians,
The last of the remote learning information will be uploaded onto the school website for Monday morning. Again as before, there is no pressure on parents/guardians to what is to be completed. In order to meet everyone's needs and expectations it is there to support home learning. There is a focus on the revision of key literacy and numeracy objectives as well as PDMU (personal development and mutual understanding) as well as transition material for our Primary 7 pupils. Remember you can contact staff via email at any time to share work, look for feedback or with any questions or queries. Email addresses can be found in the remote learning policy.
I would like to remind you all that the school is open tomorrow 11am-1pm for the collection of school reports and books (please exercise social distancing). *Please return any textbooks, reading books or learning resources which belong to the school.
*Could all Primary 7 children return their confirmation information cards (some have been handed in before lockdown). Monisgnor McCanny has requested this information. Details should follow soon on the possibility of the Sacrament of Confirmation being celebrated during the summer months.
*P7 goodie bags, we are still awaiting delivery of the P7 leavers hoodies. They are on their way and Mrs McCafferty will be delivering them to houses later in the week when they arrive.
On Thursday 25th June at 10am, Monsignor McCanny and Fr. Baker will be celebrating mass to mark the end of the school year for St. Finlough's Primary School and in particular our Primary 7's. It can be watched online via youtube. Follow the link below to watch live.

Information has been given to schools from the Department of Education on Friday. At the moment we are working through this document and working together with the BoG and staff on how to fulfill the guidelines shared. More information will be shared when this has all been considered. As yet there are no guidelines on school transport or canteen arrangements.
At the moment I can confirm that Primary 7 will start the school year on the 24th of August 2020.
The school's safeguarding and child protection procedures for parents/guardians who want to raise a child protection concern are still in place to ensure the safety of all children and young people in the community. If you have a concern, you can talk to myself or Miss Herron. you can also bring a concern to the chairperson of the Board of Governors, Conall Doherty. At any time a parent/guardian can talk to a social worker at the Gateway team (Western Trust) Tel: 02871314090 or the PSNI 999 (urgent) or 101 (non-urgnet).
Please keep safe,
Kind regards,
Mrs S. McCafferty
